Day 0: This is where it all started. One friday evening in the middle of june 2005, we met at Basel, close to the swiss-german border. Eager and full of hopes and dreams, we almost couldn’t wait to hit the road to the northern shores... The Beutler was trailered to Hessisch Oldendorf in order to use it three weeks later during the legendary vintage vw meeting.

Day 1: The first highlight of our trip was the visit of this private VW museum. The Grundmann family owns an incredible collection of rare vintage VWs that are meticulously arranged between lots of period items. A big thanks to Christian and Traugott Grundmann for this great opportunity, special thanks to Björn Schewe for his support.

If you’re into vintage VWs you surely love Porsches, too. These two low-mileage pre-A models are in fanstastic unrestored (!) condition.

Their collection of literature and memorabilia is simply breathtaking. Take these KdF brochures as an example. Amazing!

Day 2: In case you don’t want to take the ferry you'll need to check out some awesome bridges like this one in the middle of Denmark.

Day 3: Another day, another bridge. Sweden, here we come!

Day 4: The swedish east-coast: There was even some sunshine, somewhere...

Lost in the middle of nowhere, we had a memorable conversation with some swedish deathmetal dude. "Hey, what are you doing here? Do you want to go fishing?" No, thanks man, we're looking for some gas. "What kind of car is this?" It's a beetle. "Yes, of course I know it's an old Volkswagen. But what kind of car is it? Is it a race car?" Yes, it's a race car. "Oh, what kind of race?" Quartermile. "Oh, cool!"

Day 5: Finally we're on the road to paradise! As you can see in the background, the owner of this gas station has some great vintage Shell collectibles.

Welcome to paradise! We had just found one of the most beautiful place we'd come across our trip through the south of Sweden. It was wonderful, and the sun was shining. Note: Check out the GEZUVOR rock on the left!

At the end of a perfect day...

...there can't be anything better than a wild ride in a cal look beetle!
