For the first time, the DAS Drag Day and the Bug Show Spa had been held on two following weekends. More than a few people from all over Europe took their chance to attend both of these two events and spent one week in Belgium. But let's stop dreaming and have a look back at the happy times we had at Spa.
A 600 km journey from Switzerland to Belgium means a lot of fun, but it's still a 600 km journey with 50 years old cars.
Paolo's latest "weapon": this '55 oval will receive the whole cal look treatment. He already started with a set of Sprintstars and t-bars.
Another great car in the middle of the cal look process: unrestored standard split-window from the belgian DBS VW club.
The french Bug Race shop finished this awesome sedan just as the Bug Shop opened its gates.
A true piece of cal look history: the '62 top chop built by Keith Goss in the middle of the 70s. Note that this car was one of the first street VWs with a chopped roof. In 1976 it was selected "America's Most Beautiful Volkswagen" during Bug-In 16. Today the car is mostly like it had been built almost 30 years ago and it still retains its "fat biscuit" style interior by Don Bradford.
Details like this tell the stories of the past: original pit sticker from OCIR.
Read the "bible" by KS to find out more about the history of this great car.
