Nostalgia inspired cars are obviously spreading all over Europe at the moment. One of those cars, slightly influenced by the drag racers of the days gone by, is this sedan owned by Johnny Danger from Gifhorn. The '67 model styled body sits on a '68 IRS pan with a Porsche 5-speed transmission. Its really impressive stance is the result of an adjustlable front end with a pair of ERCO drag race rims and 125-15 tires. The stock height rear end features the classic 205-70s fitted to a pair of detailed Mahle gasburner wheels. Some modifications were done in order to save weight, e.g. the race car windows (makrolon). Mister Danger is currently building a 1776 engine which should be up and running in 2003. In the meantime he installed an almost stock 1600 with a pair of 40IDF Webers and a 009 distributor.
The 1776 will be fed by a pair of 48IDAs on DDS manifolds, the block will be equipped with a Scat crank, Berg pulley, Scat push rods, Scat 1:1.4 lifters, an Engle FK10 cam with Empi straight cut timing gears, ignition is guaranteed by a MSD 6AI, and the stock fan shroud will be replaced by two drag race fans.
As you can see, the paintjob mostly consists of primer, the flamejob, the side scoops and the rollcage were painted purple in order to suit the DDS manifolds. Check out the nice interior of the car with the headliner replaced by some attractive photos.
