Bad Camberg is definitely the place to be for any VW enthusiast. Actually we had planned to trailer the Kübelwagen to BC but one week ahead of the event we realized that we were still without trailer. As it wouldn't be the first pilgrimage across Europe with that car (remember the Cal Look Crusade 2002) the decision was clear. Though, sit back and enjoy 30 pics of the 500 km trip to the VW mekka.
We started Friday 8.30 PM. The weather was magnificent and we did regret that we didn't have hit the road earlier.
It's been getting dark when we were still on swiss roads. What a beautiful sky anyway...
Even during the night we enjoyed the pleasure of driving this fast '44 "convertible".
Time for a whopper at the first stop after the german border.
After 7 hours on the Autobahn, we arrived around 3.30 AM at Frankfurt where we stayed with our friends Ben and Dennis. The inspection of Dennis '67 2.2 litre IDA equipped sedan made the short night even shorter. Thanks again for the hospitality, guys! In the morning we finally touched down in BC.
One of my favourites was Jim Buys' 1950 splitwindow with a good dose of patina and a lot of cool details.
Porsche 356 aluminium brakedrums look great together with the pre-a 16" rims.
Still going strong: Paul Rui's barndoor panel which is for sale now.
Scandinavian cal look bugs are always looking good. Rare JP-wheels were redrilled for the 5x205 pattern. Usually they were used for Saab!
